William N. D’Onofrio, CPA is the founding principal consultant of D’Onofrio & Associates, LLC.
Mr. D’Onofrio has more than 33 years’ experience in the electric utility industry having served in leadership roles in rate regulation, accounting, distribution operations, business services, shared services and strategy.
Mr. D’Onofrio has extensive experience in managing the preparation, filing, adjudication and settlement of both base rate and fuel clause filings. He has testified in more than 50 base rate cases and fossil and nuclear fuel clause proceedings before the Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia public service commissions as well as before the FERC. He also has extensive experience working with in-house and outside counsel in developing testimony, interrogatories and briefs as well as helping counsel prepare for cross examination of opposing witnesses.
Mr. D’Onofrio has been intimately involved in electric utility industry restructuring and re-regulation having participated in industry restructuring activities in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.
Mr. D’Onofrio also has extensive experience in a wide variety of electric utility financial, administrative and operating functions, where he held leadership positions in planning and budgeting, strategy, major customer relationship management, and shared services functions.
Mr. D’Onofrio has been a presenter on numerous occasions at industry conferences and company leadership functions and has been an Adjunct Professor of Financial Accounting at Franklin University since 2003.
Mr. D’Onofrio holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and an M.B.A. degree in Controllership from St. John’s University. He attended The Executive Program at the Darden School of Business. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1973 and is currently a licensed CPA in Ohio.
